Local Islamorada Fishing Reports
This week in the Florida Keys the wind has
been howling, although, the fishing has been
surprisingly good.
Sailfish are moving through better and
better every day, and the tunas are still
thick as can be on the offshore humps and
wrecks. Believe it or not, there are still
some dolphin around. Maybe they will stay
consistent all year…wouldn’t that be great?
I am not going to hold my breath, but it
would be nice.
There’s plenty of action on the reef as
well, with the snappers and groupers
extremely happy all up and down the line.
Kingfish have been a lot of fun too, with
several showing up in your slick, and loaded
up pretty good on the wrecks and deeper
ledges.
The weekend is looking better, from a
weather standpoint, so at least some of the
smaller boats should be able to make it out.
You have a lot of options this weekend as
pretty much everything is here and is
biting. We are even starting to see some
cobia starting to come through in the upper
and middle Keys. It appears that it is
shaping up to be a fun winter.
